Certified Scrum Master

ABOUT THE COURSE

The Certified ScrumMaster Course is a two-day course which introduces the concepts of Agile project leadership using the Scrum methodology. Successful participants will become Certified ScrumMasters, a first step in the journey towards this more adaptive form of project leadership.

Through this CSM training course, students will learn how to plan and run Sprint Planning Meetings, daily Scrum Meetings, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives and more.

The course format consists of multiple lecture topics, group exercises and group discussion. Ample time will be devoted to analysis of the “real-world” industry experiences of the ScrumMaster Course instructor based on case study examples and his experience managing Agile projects and coaching Scrum teams

ABOUT THE CERTIFICATION

Students will become Certified ScrumMasters after attending this course and passing a series of small exercises. Successful participants will be listed as CSM on the Scrum Alliance website and will receive a one year membership to the Scrum Alliance.

Project Management professionals (PMP) will receive 14 Professional Development Units.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS

Dr. Jeff Sutherland  is well known as the Co-Creator of the Scrum Agile Development Process. He is Chairman of the Scrum Training Institute, CEO of Scrum, Inc. and Senior Advisor and Agile Coach to OpenView Venture Partners. He created the first Scrum in 1993 and worked with Scrum Co-Creator Ken Schwaber, to formalize the Scrum development process at OOPSLA’95. As VP of Engineering and CTO of nine software companies he prototyped Scrum in four companies and in the fifth company created Scrum as we know it today. His last eight companies have been Scrum companies.

Mitch Lacey is an agile practitioner and trainer and former Microsoft Employee. Mitch has been managing projects for over twelve years and has numerous plan-driven and agile projects under his belt.  He is a Certified Scrum Trainer(CST) and a registered Project Management Professional (PMP).
